Fine Arts

Become an art teacher who can convey the joy of creation.

The creative activity of art mobilizes the entire personality and abilities. In other words, it allows you to utilize 100% of yourself, not just a part of you. Everything you’ve experienced so far—trips and reading you’ve postponed for exams, dreams you’ve had while dozing off, even the experiences of failure, arguments with friends or parents—all of it can be harnessed in the creative activity of art. Through the expression and appreciation of art, one’s understanding of both oneself and others deepens. The profession of teaching, much like the creative activity of art, also requires mobilizing the entire personality and abilities. We firmly believe that this major provides an optimal environment for those aspiring to be art teachers. As educators, we are dedicated to passionately and rigorously guiding you from enrollment to graduation, ensuring that your aspirations are fulfilled.

Characteristics of Major

This major aims to cultivate a broad range of knowledge and high-level specialized skills, preparing individuals to effectively engage in teaching and fostering rich personalities with distinctive qualities. Various subjects are offered to cover diverse specialized areas in art, allowing students to explore a wide range of artistic disciplines.
In the first and second years, students acquire foundational knowledge and skills, progressing to specialized subjects from the second semester of the second year. Furthermore, in the second semester of the third year and the first semester of the fourth year, students delve into more specialized areas through small-group seminar subjects such as "Art Topic Research I" and "Art Topic Research II," leading to their graduation research. While the primary goal of this major is teacher training, students' practical art skills upon graduation are equivalent to those of an art university.

Curriculum Features

From the first year, specialized subjects in the field of education are provided, allowing students to explore various specialized areas. From the third year onwards, students can choose a specific field (Art Education, Painting, Sculpture, Composition Design, Crafts, Art History, and Art Theory) and begin specialized research towards their graduation project.
Additionally, there are courses that incorporate a simulated teaching format, aiming to develop the ability to conceptualize, prepare, and actually teach lessons. Teacher certification can be obtained not only in "Art" for junior high school and high school but also, by choice, in "Crafts" for high school. This structure accommodates education spanning six years from junior to senior high school.
